Listings Key

This is the format for the LA, OC, First Run, and Revival theater lists. They are all sorted by city or neighborhood.

TheaterAddressCode RecordingVoice
Mann Village961 Broxton #051310-208-5576 310-208-0018

Theater: The name of the theater and the chain, so you can find the right ad in the paper for listings. The theater name links to the detail listing and review comments, if any. See about the Theater Reviews for more info.
Address: The street address of the theater. In some cases, the name of the mall or closest cross streets instead.
Code: The MoviePhone express code, if I know it, to help you find out what and when is playing without wading through a billion menus. The MoviePhone numbers are 213 or 310 777-FILM, or 626 444-FILM. (I don't use or like MoviePhone, and this is not an endorsement.)
Recording: The Recording number for the theater. Usually it's at the actual theater; sometimes it's a chain-wide number (like 310-248-MANN).
Voice: The voice number of the theater, to reach a person. Don't abuse this! Some theaters feel they don't have the staff to answer the phone, and don't give the number out. While I think this is stupid and I don't usually go to such theaters, constantly using the voice number to asnwer questions easily answered somewhere else will lead to more theaters having unpublished voice numbers.

A table of LA County revival theaters, and theaters that have enough revival material that they're usually worth checking. Also includes second run theaters; they tend to be discounted.

I can remember a time when where we went to the movies was just as important as the movies we went to see .... From the moment moviegoers arrived to buy their tickets, there was a sense of something special, a feeling that to step inside was to enter another time and place. - Gene Kelly
